BMI Music 101 Songwriting (They Did It Again!)

by Yaynoc Talk on Apr.21, 2010, under Yaynoc Talk

BMI, Catherine Brewton, and MEISA of Georgia State University did it again! Friday April 16th, 2010 they hosted another round of Music 101 titled Songwriting – “How I Wrote the Song.” This was a phenomenal event hosted by Catherine Brewton – VP, Writer-Publisher Relations BMI and a panelist of humble, dedicated, “truth speaker-Sean Garrett” and songwriters in the music industry.
The broad panelist spectrum spread from “the young urban and gospel songwriter” to “the best teacher is experience songwriter,” a magnificent approach for the audience. See below the roster and the BMI provided biography (click the PDF button).

A song can come anytime from anywhere, a thought, visual, or even while on ‘wifey detail” like gospel songwriter Jonathan Nelson. Mr. Nelson shared with the audience he was home cleaning when the song ”My Name is Victory” propositioned him and the rest is history.
Many other interesting and fascinating stories of “How I Wrote the Song” were presented and from YAYNOC REORDS we say Thank You for sharing!
