Executing the project plan is what it’s all about; a plan without action is useless. We are pleased the conceptual ideas of the new release are coming together. The next EP has been titled, the artwork has been decided upon, and video ideas documented. Excitement and inspiration is in the air as we pull all this together.

Teenage Paparazzo – HBO Documentary

by Yaynoc Talk on Oct.03, 2010, under Yaynoc Talk

Do not miss this documentary about celebrities watched and tracked daily around the clock and how photographs and information can be twisted and communicated inaccurately for a media story. However, the most amazing and unbelievable in this documentary is the work and life of kid paparazzo Austin. I saw this doc yesterday and found it interesting enough to give it some blog space today. Check your local cable listing for this one, but in the meantime, here are some clips courtesy of HBO.

Songwriting Article in Wall Street Journal

by Yaynoc Talk on Aug.15, 2010, under Yaynoc Talk

Wall Street Journal printed an interesting read in Friday August 13 edition of Arts & Entertainment section. Article “The Secrets of Songwriters” by John Jurgensen provided accounts of well-known songs and songwriters. Two things that rang out:
 1. It only takes one song to change your life: This statement I have heard before from artist / songwriter Sean Garrett as his own personal testimony and ironically John Jurgensen exposes the beginnings of songwriter Tom Douglas – a fascinating story. You might recognize the magnificent song “The House That Built Me” as one of Mr. Douglas’s number one chart toppers.
2. Demo version vs. Artist version & Male vs. Female vocalist: The article has both versions (demo & artist) posted for listening. After listening to both versions, the demo version of the male vocalist exemplifies ownership of the song. Emotions reciprocated throughout the entire song and it appeared not rushed. The final thought was perhaps it was just a personal preference of the performace of the song, but decided to preview the comments section of the article –  lo and behold! – a commenter mentions the same thoughts about the demo. What do you think? Preview the article at the link below.

A song can come anytime from anywhere, a thought, visual, or even while on ‘wifey detail” like gospel songwriter Jonathan Nelson. Mr. Nelson shared with the audience he was home cleaning when the song ”My Name is Victory” propositioned him and the rest is history.
Many other interesting and fascinating stories of “How I Wrote the Song” were presented and from YAYNOC REORDS we say Thank You for sharing!

Key question and answer the panelist wanted the audience to take from the event.
Q. How do you find a good music publisher?
A. Songwriters Association & Relationships – Relationships was the highlight of the evening. The panelist wanted to drive home the importance of this word (relationship). If by chance you have encountered a relationship in the business, honor the relationship that opened the door of your career or could possibly open the door. Travel through the chain of that relationship with respect so as not to blacklist you and your efforts.
